Gentlemen,

In today’s society, it is important to have someone to look up to.  It is even more vital for a young boy to see what it means to be a man.  Across the nation, there is a big push through Big Brothers Big Sisters to get men to become mentors.  So here in Richmond, we want to form a group called the Brotherhood of Bigs. The Brotherhood of Bigs will offer opportunities for us to discuss the issues that are facing our youth today and to share stories with one another to grow their mentoring relationships.  So let’s “Start Something.”
The Brotherhood of Bigs is a way for current Bigs to get together and enjoy quality time with other men who are mentoring our community’s youth.  The Brotherhood will meet once a month at a Greater Richmond area restaurant.  The purpose of the Brotherhood is not only to discuss their Littles, but to give our mentors the opportunity to learn from each other while gaining valuable networking contacts.  All Brotherhood meetings are BYOB (Bring Your Own BIG).  All current mentors are encouraged to bring along at least one, if not many, men who are interested in becoming Big Brothers.  By simple invitations and word of mouth, we can grow the Brotherhood of Bigs into a group that will act as an example of how the power of mentoring can change a young man’s life for the better, forever. 
So gentlemen, if you are interested in coming to a Brotherhood of Bigs event, please email me with your name so I can put together an email list to update you on what is going on with the Brotherhood.  Be sure to check your emails and forward them to your friends.  The more men that hear our message, the closer we are to getting them to sign up.  I am ready to “Start Something,” are you?
